Privacy Policy

This is a small site for a small brand. We collect as little as possible, we share none of it, and we keep it only for as long as we need to answer you. Here is the full account.

Who We Are

Bourbon State of Mind is a brand operated by DataNav Solutions, a company registered in the state of Tennessee, United States. This policy applies to the website at bourbonstateofmind.net and to any email correspondence you send to us at knock@bourbonstateofmind.net.

What We Collect and Why

Information You Give Us

When you sign up for The Correspondence newsletter or send a reservation request through any of the buttons on this site, you give us your email address. If you send us a longer message, we receive whatever you write in it. That is all.

We use this information solely to:

• Send you the monthly Correspondence letter if you signed up for it
• Reply to your reservation or inquiry
• Keep a record of your reservation until we can fulfill it

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your email address with any other party for any reason. Not for advertising, not for lists, not for anything.

Information Collected Automatically

When you submit the newsletter form, our server records your IP address, the time of submission, and the page you were on when you submitted. This information is kept only as part of the email we receive, and we use it exclusively to recognize spam and to comply with legal requests if we receive them. It is not stored in a database and it is not used for any other purpose.

Cookies and Browser Storage

We do not set any cookies. We do use your browser's local storage to remember two things:

• bsom_entered_v1: a flag set when you correctly answer the front door, so you are not asked again on repeat visits.
• bsom_of_age_v1: a flag set when you confirm you are of legal drinking age, so you are not asked again.

These values are stored only in your own browser. We cannot read them remotely. You can clear them at any time by clicking "Lock the door behind you" at the bottom of the site, by using your browser's privacy settings, or by using incognito or private browsing mode.

Third Parties

This site uses the following outside services. Each is used in the narrowest way possible.

HostGator

HostGator hosts the website and provides the email service used to deliver form submissions. By visiting the site, your IP address is logged by HostGator's web server for standard operational purposes. HostGator's privacy practices are governed by their own policy at hostgator.com/legal/privacy.

Google Fonts

We load our typefaces from Google's Fonts service. When you load any page on this site, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means Google may log your IP address and browser information as part of that request. Google's handling of that data is described at policies.google.com/privacy.

Streaming Services

If you click through to a streaming service (Spotify, Apple Music, or similar) to hear the Noble Lies Soundtrack, that service's own privacy policy applies from the moment you arrive on their site. We do not share any information with them on your behalf.

How Long We Keep Your Information

If you sign up for The Correspondence, we keep your email address until you ask us to remove it. If you send a reservation or an inquiry, we keep your email in that correspondence thread until the matter is resolved and for a reasonable period after, in case you follow up.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we have about you
• Ask us to correct any information that is inaccurate
• Ask us to remove your information from our records
• Unsubscribe from The Correspondence at any time
• Object to how we process your information

Children's Privacy

This site is about whiskey and is intended for visitors who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction, typically twenty-one in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of sixteen. If you believe we have inadvertently received information from a minor, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Security

Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS. Messages received are kept in our email inbox, which is protected by standard account security. We do not operate a user database. There is no account to register for and no login to protect.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. When we do, we will change the Effective Date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will announce it in the next issue of The Correspondence. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
